Are You Sure You Want To Block _________ ?

[ I owe the concept of this post to my Husband, Shashaank :) ]

I seriously feel that a day would come, when the list of blocked users would trump our friend lists!!

Today's blog post is majorly humorous in nature. However, there is no denying the fact that
sometimes water gets over the head for few and it is terrible. Like the much talked about 'Prerna Pratham Singh Case' in the recent times, about cyber bullying. Also, Facebook stalking has resulted in a lot of criminal activities as well. I wonder why doesn't Fb, for a change; stops minting money and takes an action on that!?
People send abusive messages : using foul language for the other and even going ahead and abuse their mothers!? People make fake accounts of girls, their ex's, of those whom they have an issue with , and post appalling stuff on that account. I mean why? Why?
If you indulge in character assassination, it just reflects your mentality and questions your upbringing.
As far as I am concerned, I feel you need medical help, bro. You not sane!

I don't get the point! Facebook is a social networking website, meant to keep in touch with friends and family! It is not an online dating site. PERIOD.
If you want a girlfriend and are too dumb to make one in the real world , in the normal way.. then make an account on match.com, lovestruck.com, mingle2, cupid, metrodate or whichever! Please don't make a fool of yourselves by approaching girls on Facebook.

Now, let's come to the humour part! :D
These are screenshots of the weirdest / awkward / silly / funny / cheesy / disgusting / outrageous messages I received. I have tried to be at my funniest best! Hope you have a smile on your face! and, also connect with this post. :)

Feminism & its origins

Writing on an issue like this, I was really skeptical; not knowing how it would be perceived. But I felt that it is high time that we get into the depths of this frequently used term, ‘Feminism’. To understand any movement, it is only smart to get to know why and how it came into existence Let’s acknowledge the fact that from ages the fibers of patriarchy have been woven into the fabric of human consciousness and consciously or unconsciously we all fell prey to it. It was and sometimes is, male dominated, identified and centered. It got so deep rooted that even the most basic of rights were not made available to women and they were okay with not having the same. The list of some of those might shock you. It took a century for women to be able to hold property on the same terms as men, serve on a jury, to cast votes, apply for bank loan, become an accountant or a lawyer, report marital rape, get equal pay (which still is a long way from equal!), get a safe abortion or bu...

"O Stigma", why dost thou yet exist?

‘Social stigma  is the disapproval of, or   discrimination   against, a person based on apprehensible social characteristics the purpose of which is to distinguish them from other members of a society. Social stigmas are commonly related to  culture ,  gender ,  race , intelligence, sexual preference and health. ’ As Plato wrote in  The Laws , a dialogue on the ethics of government, ‘if anyone is caught committing sacrilege, if he be a slave or a stranger, let his offence be written on his face and his hands’. The word ‘Stigma’ finds its origins in a Greek word stig -, meaning to prick or to puncture, that means, a type of marking or a tattoo . Something that was cut or burned into the skin of criminals, slaves, or traitors in order to visibly identify them as morally polluted persons, in medieval times and even before. These individuals were to be avoided particularly in public places. Stigma may also be described as a label to ...

Sex Ed and its need to be included in the school curriculum.

I recall an interesting conversation I had a few months ago, on board the train, with an Italian teacher. We talked about the challenges that him and I faced in the classrooms. Amidst the imprudent reliance on the internet, extensive video gaming, excessive use of smartphones in classroom; there was one thing that left me aghast and speechless.  He mentioned that one of his student was in a juvenile rehabilitation centre, for attempted murder. I was shocked, beyond my wits. What follows, will both amuse and disturb you. The kid and his girlfriend were spending the night together. At that tender age, you're overwhelmed with a myriad of emotions. You feel excitement, nervousness, trying to seek intimacy. Too young, too silly to know what and how. To avoid being shamed by friends and family, you seek the help of the internet for guidance.  This was exactly what the kid did. Little knowing about the world of fetishes that exist on the internet, he thought that was the ...
