You are never just a teacher remember dear friend,
You influence million lives from starting to the end.
Your pay may be less but you are loved the most,
You build other professions; of that you can boast.
So never lessen your worth in your own eyes,
Keep learning and yearning until you reach your high.

This post is dedicated to those who have made me who I am today. Who may be somewhere deep down in my sub conscience and inspired me to be one of them myself. Apart from the fact that almost 70% of my family is engaged in teaching and training, so i guess it runs in the blood ;).
Yes, this post is dedicated to teachers. Love them or Hate them but you simply cannot ignore the contribution they've had in your life.

Right from Guru to Master Ji to Ma'am/Sir , the teaching fraternity has been referred to by many names over hundereds of years. Their appearances changed, knowledge increased, influence grew but one thing did not change: Their love for students and vice versa.
No one can deny the fact that a teacher has one time or the other been their influence, their friend, their guide, their parent and sometimes even their crush. ( I had one on my Accounts Teacher too ;) )
I mean if you can read this too, you need to thank a teacher.
A teacher is the one, who shares his/her prior experiences, to make you grow and understand life better.
A good teacher can change your life. She/ he can help you imbibe strong values that make you successful. Not just factual knowledge, but everything in life as a whole.
A teacher responds, never reacts. A great teacher is someone who will patiently teach you everything, any number of times. Sometimes however they may lose their cool ( They're human, it happens!)
A teacher impacts but doesn’t impose. A great teacher will never force things on you. He/she will set examples.
A teacher moulds you and make you into a better person holistically.
Ever Wondered what makes few a favourite teacher?
Of course how you carry yourself, the dress, the personality plays an important role.
( It has less to do with it)
When you connect to them and truly bond with them.
When you encourage them and not rebuke them.
When you understand their feelings/emotions and not ridicule them.
When your lecture is not a dull affair.
When you know, when to be a friend.
When you willing to learn from the students.
When you put in an effort, are passionate, caring, funny and thoughtful.
When you have an excellent command over your subject!

However sometimes teachers forget that their profession is not exactly a profession but a vocation. They get too engrossed in minting money. Some of them take out their frustrations on the kids, their lack of achievement / self esteem is so low that they become bitter and then treat the children in ways unimaginable.
I often see videos on the internet where teachers show such apathy towards students , beat them mercilessly. It breaks my heart. However, I will not deny that if you spare the rod, you spoil the child. Some strictness must be maintained and there should be some fear of the elder, but that fear must come through the look of the eyes. One stare should be enough, you need not bash up the child.
Things have changed so much over the years for instance teachers wear colours, western clothes to school, dye their hair, get tattoos etc too, pay attention to their dressing too. In the olden days teaching was the least glamorous profession but now things have taken a turn.
Also, another change has been that initially parents questioned the child when he scored less marks whereas now, it is the other way. Teachers are asked as to why the child has scored less marks. Parents give few of their patent statements like - 'he studies at home', 'he does not do this at home', 'she keeps studying the entire day don't know why she's unable to score marks' etc etc.
When teachers are nation builders then why are they the least revered, least paid, least respected profession in a country like India?
Have a look at the salaries of teachers around the world and sadly, India lies way behind! (figures may or may not be true too!)
The other way round the modern education system has tied up the hands of the teacher in such a way that whatever she does/ does not do - she is at the receiving end. Teacher must not fail the child no matter how incompetent he/she may be for the next class. Teacher must not hit/scold the child because it may affect him other way round, even if the student misbehaves with him/her. Teacher must do even those jobs which are not even a part of his/her job description.
It is high time that people realise the importance of Teachers and the role they play in shaping a nation's future. Organisations too must acknowledge that teachers are an inseparable part of their institution. They must ensure that the teachers are financially secure too, because it is an important angle to their performance and job satisfaction as well.
Now we've had enough serious talks about the Teaching Community. It is time that teachers have a little laugh too.
a. I have had endless copies to correct, copies without names, wrong numbering of the questions.
b. Before I started teaching for real, I didn't know that I'd have to face kids the way Chris Pratt faced the Velociraptors.
c. When kids are in a rush to enter the class even before the break gets over. I however do not face this problem. In the senior classes I wish for kids to be in the class, as soon as possible.
d. endless reminders for submissions. :/
e. My personal favourite! I absolutely hate it when kids talk while I'm teaching.
f. Pulling out the big guns! :D
g. Yes. You fear nothing!
Trust Me. Nothing!
h. When that one kid keeps staring at you.
i. Yes absolutely!
j. Why can't they listen in one go?
k. Honestly? LOL
l. God. YES!!
m. For the 100th time.
n. Need I say anything further?
o. And that is a true story!
p. When they say, 'Teaching is easy'.
q. WTF Moment.
Have some mercy :'(
r. Endless Work!
s. Perks of having a crush on a teacher? ;) :P
t. Ultimate Truth.
u. Touche :D
v. In school vs. At home

You do not need to wear a cape to be a superhero.
You Teach.
Therefore, you're already one.
Remember, You are never just a teacher!
You are a Nation Builder.
Take pride in your profession.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Even Bollywood has glamourised the profession today.
It has its own perks and drawbacks.
Teachers are truly the new fashion icons for heir students. :)
Being a teacher doesn't mean you're old and boring.
It doesn't mean that you can't have a fashion sense.
It doesn't mean that you have a maintain a wall around yourself.
It means you are someone who can connect with the students.
You are someone who not only teaches them but also guides them.
You are an inspiration, a role model for them.
Whatever you say or do affects them deeply.
It has been rightly said...
A Teacher Can Either Make a Child or Break Him/Her.
You have to choose which one are you.
